Rock Star Restaurant

Yippee! Today we turned our classroom into a restaurant - the Rock Star Restaurant. What great fun we had making yummy pikelets, mini pizzas, scones, fruit salad and folding napkins and decorating the tables. We practised how to greet our guests and how to wait on them. Great job class! Room 15 Rock Star Restaurant on PhotoPeach

Good luck Ella!

This weekend Ella and her family will take part in the 40 hour famine. They will go without electricity for the weekend! Ella talked to us at assembly about the 40 hour famine and later she showed us how to make a tippy tap - a tap to wash your hands when you have no pipes or taps. Great job Ella, you are an inspiration to us all!

Certificates and Super readers

Well done certificate winners and wonderful readers - you are stars!

Great work children!

Wow! I was so proud of you this afternoon. We were in class and were shaken by a 5.2 aftershock. Quickly you all made a turtle (I did too) and when the shaking stopped we all calmly went out side and stayed with all our friends till the home bell went. You are awesome! Well done:) Love from Mrs Simmons

Rock Stars Restaurant

By now I'm sure you all will have heard about our 'One Day Restaurant' that we are setting up in Room 15 on Monday 28 May. The children have decided to call the restaurant 'Rock Stars Restaurant'. The menu has been planned and the children have all decided who they will invite to eat at the restaurant - invitations have been sent out and children have decided what they will need to bring along. Parents will have received a list of equipment that the children thought that they had at home that we could use - please let me know if you cannot supply any items and the children can make other arrangements. Let us know know if you if can help, we have plenty of parents helping make scones, fruit salad, pikelets, pizzas, folding napkins and setting the tables however the saying in room 15 is 'the more the merrier' so come along if you like:) Let's have a great day on Monday (and please remember that the children have planned this and it's okay if everything doesn't go to plan - it's the inquiry process that's important, not the product - although we are sure the food will be yummy!)

Is it healthy?

As part of our inquiry called 'From garden to tabletop' we have been having some interesting discussions about school lunches. What is a healthy school lunch? Is it ok to have chocolate every day? Why do we need to have sandwiches? Leave us a comment and share your ideas!
