Why are these icons important to New Zealanders?

We have been looking at icons (pictures) of things that are important to New Zealanders. Can you leave us a comment and tell us why these icons are important?

  • hokey pokey ice cream
  • kiwis
  • silver fern
  • chilli bins
  • L&P
  • fish'n'chips
  • paua shells
  • pineapple lumps
  • kiwi fruit

    They are importantant because some of the things are made here.
    Gumboots are important for New Zealanders because we have lots of farms and need gumboots when it is raining and muddy.
    Kiwis are our Native Bird
    Chilly bins are special to New Zealanders because we have lots of bbqs in summer
    I dont really like KiwiFruit so its not important to me but it is grown here so it is good for you.
